Is summer on the way?

Residents of the Chapel End and Bunsley Bank areas of the village have seen the first signs of summer during the last two weeks – the lesser-spotted cricketer. Although it has not yet gained its summer plumage of white, it has been seen mowing the outfield and cutting and rolling the square in preparation for the new season.

The whites will be donned for the first time on a week on Saturday, the 22nd April, at 2pm, when Audlem's First XI play Saughall in Division 2 of the Cheshire Building Society Cricket Alliance. Last season, both clubs gained promotion – Saughall narrowly pipping Audlem to the Division 3 title.
