The Hitch-Hikers Guide to Faith -
a journey from past to present

The Audlem churches series during Lent this year, by means of audio-visual presentations, explores some of the features of the Christian's journey of faith using reflections of the lives and places of the native British saints.

In three sessions we travel to different parts of the British Isles to see what each can tell us of the faith that inspired the Christians in the early centuries and echo to us today. With a renewed interest in the idea of "Pilgrimage", this series shows us what it can mean to be a Christian pilgrim today.

Wednesday 6th March " Detachment and Engagement"

We visit Northern England and Scotland to discover the need for a rhythm of life. We trace the development of faith based on the natural rhythms of life and recognise how it was applied and can be applied for us.

Wednesday 13th March "Living on the edge"
In Cornwall, we learn to be on the interface of the new and the different. We come face to face with the non-Christian world and see how living the Gospel is about living at the interface.

Wednesday 20th March " A Place to belong – Here and There"

In Wales we find the importance of "Place" in our lives. Place is linked with sense of belonging and we recognise the difference between being a tourist and being a pilgrim.

Then we cross the sea to Ireland often referred to as "A Thin Place", to learn of the interplay of the spiritual and the material. We see how the use of our imagination is the vehicle to make "sense" of our spiritual experience and lives.
