Helping to treat a rare cancer

GoFundMe is a fund-raising website that may be new to many but it has been brought to our attention by a local reader of AudlemOnline.

Its users rely on the support of their friends and family to help spread the word about a particular case and an Audlem focused group has just raised an extraordinary £5,452 to help treat a local Mum who has been diagnosed with a rare gall bladder cancer. This amount has been raised by 176 donors in just six days.

The cancer is not curable but it is treatable. However, due to an NHS technicality, the drug that she needs to accompany her chemo is not currently funded by the NHS.
