Heathfield Road Chaos

The temporary closure of Cheshire Street has caused considerable inconvenience for lots of Audlem residents and businesses, not to say confusion for non residents.

However, the chaos it has caused on Heathfield Road and Salford has served to highlight the, in my opinion, stupidity of the planning consent given for 26 houses currently being built with access onto Heathfield.

Walking in Heathfield Road and Salford this week has been extremely hazardous. Drivers frustrated at the hold ups and driving too fast on what is mainly a single track carriageway posed a real danger, particularly for children attending the primary school.

Sadly it is too late for anything to be done about this particular application but I sincerely hope it can be noted in any future attempts for building permission in this area.
