With the Audlem Beer Festival coming up next weekend, it's time to start anticipating the wonderful array of beers and ciders being laid on by Audlem's three pubs.
The Festival gets underway on Friday and runs right through to the Monday night of the Bank Holiday weekend.
There are 57 different ales from 36 different brewers and 14 craft ciders to choose from. We'll be describing each and every one of them over the next few days, in alphabetical order, starting today with the brewers from A to J.
We love the Tasting Notes but should add that the Webteam Editor hasn't yet tasted all of them to verify their accuracy but will try to put that right over the Beer Festival weekend.
Mind you, some of the names may be a challenge after a few samples. A glass of Fuzzy Duck Cunning Stunt will be a particularly early order to help avoid a social faux pas at the Shroppie Fly!
Banks Sunbeam (4.2% ABV): A gloriously zesty blonde, releasing tangy citrus and grapefruit overtones. Creating an easy drinking refreshing beer with a clean long finish. It's at the Bridge Inn.
Beartown Brown Bear (4.1% ABV): Traditional dark russet coloured brown ale, with malt and soft toffee flavours, with a full bodied hoppy finish and notes of molasses. Available at the Lord Combermere
Beartown Peach Melbear (4.4% ABV): Refreshing blonde summer ale. The hoppy bitterness is balanced by the sweet aroma of peaches and elderflower. A real peach of a pint! At the Lord Combermere
Black Dog Rhatas (4.6% ABV): A dark, rich bitter which is creamy and very smooth to the palate. At the Shroppie Fly
Beartown Oracle (4.5% ABV): Golden Pale Ale. Floral scented and packed with the flavours of summer fruits and lemon, ending with a smooth dryness. At the Lord Combermere.

Buffy's Mucky Duck (4.5% ABV): This dark smooth beer with it's understated chocolate and roasted tones is brewed using Maris Otter and Pale malts, coupled with Willamette and Styrian Golding hops to give a wonderfully balanced and subtle combination of flavours. Easy drinking beer with a little more flavour than most. At the Shroppie Fly
Charles Wells Bombardier (4.1% ABV): A burnished copper colour, it has a rich, tempting aroma of peppery hops and raisins, while the palate is dominated by more dark fruit, juicy malt and tangy hops. At the Lord Combermere

Greene King IPA (3.6% ABV): The beer's hoppy taste and aroma comes from two varieties of English hops, which are combined with pale and crystal malts. At the Lord Combermere
Heritage Ales Roman Ale (4.9% ABV): Recreated by analysing residues found in Roman pots found at archaeological digs at Roman sites dating from around 100AD near and other research. Original ingredients including oats, rye and bog myrtle make this is a real taste of ale as the Romans brewed it in Britannia around the time of Christ’s birth. At the Lord Combermere
Hop Back Brewery Summer Lightning (5.0% ABV): The original summer ale, brewed all year round, using East Kent Goldings aroma hops. An extremely pleasant straw coloured golden beer with an intense bitterness, leads to an excellent, long dry finish. At the Shroppie Fly
Jennings Snecklifter (5.1% ABV): An incredibly flavoursome beer which boasts compelling characteristics. Chocolate and amber malts enhance the complex flavours of this beer. At the Bridge Inn.
Jennings Lakeland Stunner (3.9% ABV): Stunning! One of many words used to describe Britain's favourite view, here in the Lake District. This light golden, easy drinking ale with its delicate floral and citrus aroma, is as inspiring as the view we celebrate. At the Bridge Inn
Jennings Cumberland Ale (4.0% ABV): A carefully balanced hop character combined with residual flavours from the malt, gives this beer its refreshing taste and unique characteristics. At the Bridge Inn.
More beers tomorrow! Should be quite a weekend.
