Good news after burglary

Those that have signed up for the new Rural Alert Facebook page which alerts local people to suspicious activity in the area, will recall a reported burglary to the east of the village last Wednesday.

The good news is that the victims have been told by the police that the thieves have been apprehended and the stolen goods recovered.

It was very much a long-distance gang from the East of England who are so well-known in their home county that they now roam far and wide. Their county police force often spot them leaving their area but rarely get them on their return. On this occasion they did and an unmarked police car found them on Monday at a garage with a car-full of stolen goods.

We understand the three thieves, or suspects as we are meant to call them, are in custody and the unfortunate local victims will be reunited with their possessions shortly.

AudlemOnline would like to point out for legal reasons that, as far as we know, the thief in the photo bears no resemblance to any of the three apprehended.
