The weekend's games resulted in a draw for the 1st XI and yet another game lost to the weather for the 2nd XI. Both teams' promotion hopes have been dashed by the weather with the 1st XI not being able to play six games and the 2nd XI eight – considerably more than any other team in their respective divisions.

In Division 3, the 1st XI, at home to Ellesmere Port on Saturday , were soon in trouble as they lost their first four wickets for just 31 runs. Ellesmere Port 's bowlers managed to contain the home batsmen and after 31 of the maximum 48 overs, Audlem were only 50 for 4 and struggling to put a decent score on the board. With just 8 overs left, they were just 99 for 5, with Tom Measures being the only batsman who could master the visitors' attack. Enter stage Warner Baxter, who then pummelled the Ellesmere Port bowlers as he and Measures (57 not out) shared an unbeaten century stand. Baxter scored an unbeaten 80 in those last 8 overs. His marvellous innings included 12 fours and 3 sixes. The stand took Audlem to a respectable 199 for 5. The visitors' best bowler was Keith Welsh, who finished with 3 for 34.

In their reply, Ellesmere Port also got off to a slow start as they lost their first two wickets for 18. Audlem's captain, Chris Shenton, set an attacking field as spinner Roy Wild slowly prised out the visitors' batsmen. With the score standing at 106 for 7 with only 10 overs to go, virtually all of the fielders were round the bat as Audlem went for the maximum points. The batsmen were able to take advantage of the many gaps in the field as they only lost one more wicket, finishing on 180 for 8. Ryan Peers top scored for the visitors and Wild finished with figures of 5 for 67. Audlem took 14 points and Ellesmere Port 7.

In the rearranged game on Sunday, the 2nd XI, had to go to table-toppers Northwich and win in order to stand any chance of promotion from Division 5. The home team batted first and were soon in trouble with the spin of Roy Wild who, having bagged five wickets on Saturday, took 3 for 32. He was well backed up by Les Hemmant, who took 2 for 22. The game was in the balance with Northwich 98 for 5 when the storm clouds gathered to end the game. Both teams were left frustrated with 5 points each for the abandoned game.

Next Saturday, which is the penultimate weekend of the season, the 1st XI travel to Mossley whilst the 2nd XI entertain Port Sunlight. Both games start at 1.00 pm.
