Formation of Allotment Federation

Following a successful NSALG Road show in Cheshire West earlier this year with an agreement to set up a Federation for the Region; this enables the Council to deal with one body rather than all the different sites.

The idea is to now form a Federation of Allotment Sites within Cheshire East something we have been involved with in Cheshire West extremely successfully.

Our aim is to forge closer links between Councils, Parish & Town Councils along with private sites. Working to promote and preserve allotments for future generations.

The plan is to:

• 1. Promote and publicise allotments.
• 2. Retain existing Sites, encourage and support self-manage allotments
• as well as support for those sites where self-management is not an option.
• 3. Give help and support to our members with regard to good practise and
• information.
• 4. Aim to foster good relations and cooperation between allotment sites
• and relevant authorities.
• 5. Help gain funding for projects.
