Keen young anglers from Audlem might like to take on a challenge from Nantwich Police next month.

Police officers from Nantwich Police Station will be holding a fishing match for children living in and around the area.

The event will take place on Thursday 25 July at Coole Acres Fisheries on Coole Lane, Nantwich. Children aged 10 to 16 will be eligible to enter.

PCSO Nick Jarvis of Nantwich Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "The fishery will cater for up to 40 anglers, and we hope to get that number of children involved.

"This will be a fun day with a relaxed atmosphere where children can meet local officers and professional anglers. We encourage novices to come and have a go as coaching staff will be available."

The event is being sponsored or supported by Coole Acres Fisheries, Sainsbury's Nantwich, Stapeley Angling, JK Angling and The Crown Hotel, Nantwich. Prizes will be on offer for various categories, and some sponsors will be handing out free gifts.

PCSO Jarvis added: "The competition is free to all and we encourage all interested to submit their application forms as soon as possible as the places will soon be filled."

Application forms can be collected from Nantwich Police Station between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Saturday. Alternatively, Nantwich Police Station can be contacted on 0845 458 6378 and a message left on the voicemail system with contact details.

All applications must be submitted by Friday 19 July 2013. The competition is being organised by PCSOs Stuart Mortimer, Sharon Jones and Nick Jarvis who are all based at Nantwich Police Station.
