As several AudlemOnline readers have pointed out, our thanks to the NHS and care home staff for their efforts and sacrifices during the pandemic should also be extended to the Firat Responders.
Audlem First Responders are a group of medically trained volunteers who are despatched to life saving 999 calls in the area by North West Ambulance service. Established for over twelve years, their work is entirely supported by generous donations from local parish councils.
Over the last few weeks they been busier than normal responding 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Audlem and its surrounding villages.

Members of the team, when not on duty in the Village, have also been working with North West Air Ambulance and Hazardous Area Response Team(HART) providing 'critical care transfers' of Covid 19 patients to Intensive Care Units across the North West region.
Details of the project can be read here.
