Laura Bentley, who is from an old established Audlem family, is to spend six weeks in Africa this summer, working with a charity called First Aid Africa.
First Aid Africa is a humanitarian charity working primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa to provide sustainable first aid equipment and education.
Laura will be part of a team going to an area of Tanzania called Moshi, located right at the base of Mount Kilamanjaro. The team consists of a group of members of the Charity from universities up and down the country. They will live and work with people from the village, following their way of life.
Laura has to go to London to learn first aid so that she can teach those skills to people in need who need it most.
Laura will be collecting towards the funds she needs to participate in this project at the next film show ("Quartet") at the Public Hall on Saturday March 9th.
