One of the most popular events of the year kicks off tonight, Friday evening. There's then three full days of music and entertainment to follow on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday with the added attraction of the Carnival. Today's programme offers music to suit many tastes:

8:30pm – Poyzer & Fluff + special guestsLord Combermere – Following two storming Audlem performances in previous years, P&F bring their outstanding passionate, vibrant and most enjoyable original songs and improvisations back to the Combermere for what promises to be a most brilliant event.

A support line-up of four personally chosen special guests playing short powerful sets completes the billing. Arrive early, don't miss this one! "Darren's songs are heartfelt with poignant lyrics, and a beautiful sensitive touch. We really enjoy it when he appears on the same stage as us." – Andy Powell, Wishbone Ash.

9:00pm – Colin Browne & Mick GilikerThe Bridge Inn – Colin Browne (Barclay James Harvest) & Mick Giliker (Proudlove & Beyond). Undaunted by years playing Europe's elite venues, Colin joins forces with Mick to perform a heady mixture of Beatles classics and Motown favourites. Keyboards & guitars combine with vocal virtuosity.
