Welcome to your local music update from Chillinights, Hoc19Events and FatPigeonLive.
What a fantastic response we had from the Winter Chillinight, a truly great night with a great line up; MacyG and Alg Halliwell eventually getting the night off to a great start (never trust a battery!), Ronan Haughey returning back to Audlem from the Smoke to show how his sound and style is developing.
What about Last of the Dogs rocking into the evening, great things we are seeing from them, and what of Mr Dave Nettleton, a solo spot from the man who delivers the darker side of Folk only the way Dave can.
Topping off the night we had the Eyres, these lads have been entertaining locally for a while, but how tight are they, great sound, great presence, great set.
So, what do we have next? How about the first FatPigeonLive Gig – this you will love.
The aim is to bring you some great bands to play in an intimate 'TV' studio setting. Think Jools Holland, TGI Friday and a smattering of the Old Grey Whistle Test. All on your doorstep at the World Famous Scout and Guide Hall in Audlem.
FatPigeonLive will be recording sound and video in front of a live audience in preparation for future Live Programmes coming soon.
This is a joint venture between local businesses Hoc19Events, HollowFloor Studios and ThenMedia, coming together under the FatPigeonLive banner. Having listened to what you like about the music and Theatre nights we host, we're putting it to the test and providing a vehicle to attract more established bands and artists.
On Saturday March 21st, we have The Reads playing this inaugural gig at FatPigeonLive. The Reads are one of the most respected bands attracting an underground following of music aficionados – Those that know – Know! And here at FatPigeonLive you'll be able to enjoy the right atmosphere in which to relish their performance.
On the same bill, we are also Introducing a rising talent, Lydia O'Dowd. Lydia is an exceptional young singer/songwriter who is attracting a lot of the right noises, and no pub noises here, you can be amongst the first of a growing fan base.
We are deliberately not saying a lot more here, just trust us, you will not be disappointed.
So, how do you get to attend this gig? You can purchase tickets here: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1247865
This is a new format, there will be very limited seating, however, you can still fetch your own drinks, usual rules around under 18's and alcohol, but that aside fetch your dancing shoes.
