The death of Peggy Furber

It is with much sadness that we report the death – yesterday – of Mrs Peggy Furber. Peggy has been a well known figure in the Audlem area over many years, as well as being a former Mayor and Honorary Alderman of Crewe & Nantwich Borough.

Mrs Furber was a long serving councillor for Audlem and received the borough's highest honour, an Honorary Alderman, in 1998. She was mayor in 1992/3 and deputy mayor in 1988/89.
