Following the good progress that has been made in getting support for the continuation of the older people's day care at Thornton House, a public meeting has been arrranged by the Steering Sub-Committee of the Parish Council which will be held on Thursday, 11th November in the Methodist Church Hall starting at 7.00pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to bring together all interested people and groups to hear about the progress which has been made in getting Cheshire East Council to consider continuing to fund the service, which supports older people from Audlem, Hankelow, Hatherton and Buerton, once Age Concern cease to run the service at the end of March 2011.

The aim of the meeting is also to to seek public support for the establishment of a local Community Trust to bid to run the day service from April 2011 onwards and to look at the work so far of the Sub-Committee in getting agreement to its draft business plan from Cheshire East and Audlem Parish Council.

In order to set up such a Community Trust it will also be important to extend the membership of the existing committee to include representatives of the people who use the service, their families, the volunteers, local churches and other interested people as well as the Parish Council and Audlem Medical Practice Patient Group.

All are welcome.
