Yesterday was, as most sports enthusiasts will agree, the greatest day ever in the history of British cycling:
Audlem's popularity with cyclists is well-known as anyone familar with the Old Priest House will know.
The numbers of cyclists passing through the village are enormous in events such as the Cheshire Cat Sportif each March
Audlem Cycling Club's July Road Race Series is running at present with another race tomorrow evening, just one more reason local campaigners are fighting for better road surfaces locally, suitable for all cyclists.
And how many villages the size of Audlem have a top-quality specialist cycling shop?
Fingers will now be crossed hoping that the national success continues over the next few weeks at the Olympics as Britain's magnificent cyclists go for Gold!
If so, it might be a case of "form a queue" at the cycle shop in Audlem!
