Cuckoo heard locally

Local wildlife enthusiasts will be delighted to read the following message received by AudlemOnline yesterday:

"Cuckoo just heard at Bunsley Bank! First for years!"

Cuckoos have been in steep decline in recent years and few have been heard locally. Indeed, over some years, no cuckoos have been heard or seen locally.

The cuckoo in the photo is not the one heard – well, it could be, but that would be pure chance!
