Coxbank potholes seen from Space

Official – Coxbank potholes now visible from Space!

Coxbank residents were delighted to hear recently that the growing size of the potholes on Hardys Lane and Chapel Lane have been officially recognised by the International Space Station.

NASA are now bidding to have the area recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

One resident said; "This is wonderful news. We have been campaigning since November last year to get the Council to repair the roadways, having to slalom several times every day to navigate out of the village, and worrying about vehicles being stuck in the flooded depths – but thank goodness we were unsuccessful or this natural phenomenon would have been lost for ever."

In order to preserve this new tourist attraction for Coxbank, residents are launching "S.O.P." or Save Our Potholes campaign.

"We cannot allow Cheshire East Council to finally get round to sending a team of road repairers out when no-one is protecting the site" said a Coxbank representative.

"A round-the-clock vigil is being mounted despite Health & Safety consultants advice that entering the area is highly dangerous due to the unstable ground and deep sink holes."

"An online petition is planned and residents are hoping to get support from Prince Charles. Watch this space – don't let Cheshire East ruin this local asset by dumping tarmac over it!"
