Cheshire East Council has received a number of offers of employment for people who have lost their jobs in the wake of the Bosley incident.
So far a total of 22 businesses have registered potential employment opportunities with the Council. This includes the Council's own arm's length company Ansa Environmental Services and its highways partnership with Ringway Jacobs.
The Council is currently liaising with colleagues from both Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Staffordshire County Council to co-ordinate opportunities.
Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of Cheshire East Council, said: "We've been appalled at the treatment of these people by the mill owners so we are only too pleased to be co-ordinating with local businesses to find them suitable employment elsewhere when they are ready.
"We are working closely with our colleagues in Staffordshire to ensure we all do what we can to support those people who have lost their livelihoods."
