A correspondent writes: "I have a suggestion regarding the new river in Shropshire St. I would like to see if we could get Lottery funding to transfer the Diana Memorial Fountain from London, to the centre of Audlem." "Not only would it provide a much welcome new tourist attraction for the area, it would undoubtedly be more successful than the original, as we would be able to guarantee a constant flow of water all year round. Imagine the idyllic scene of mothers and children playing happily in the safety of the shallow water in a beautiful Cheshire village setting.... it's what she would have wanted."

Another correspondent says: "With the onset of the winter weather, why not get United Utilities to flood the whole of the town centre then we can have speed skating, ice dance, and the best spectator sport, car crashing. I'm sure that with Audlem Online's influence we could get BBC Grandstand to cover some of the events on national telly and hence raise the profile of the village even higher."

"With respect to the car crashing sport, if there is an incident as a result of the un-repaired flood, who is responsible? United Utilities, the Council, or may be Bin Laden as he seems responsible for everything else! I'm sure if the spectra of compensation as a result of a potential accident is raised, one of the bodies that is not responsible may have second thoughts!!
