Coole Lane roadworks finished

Cheshire East Highways has finished its resurfacing work on Coole Lane, near Audlem.

The road was closed for a week from its junction with A525 Whitchurch Road to its junction with Hollin Green Lane.

Traffic restrictions were imposed to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out the resurfacing works on the southern end of the lane.

According to the council's Twitter feed the roadworks was completed yesterday .

Diversions via Hollin Green Lane, Heatley Lane, A530 Whitchurch Road, A5015 Goldsmith Lane, A525 Whitchurch Road have been lifted.

The work followed many complaints about the state of potholes along Coole Lane. The northern end of the highway from the junction with Baddington Lane/ Shrewbridge Road to the junction with Hollingreen Lane was resurfaced in February.

The work has certainly made 'Potholer' happy who said on the Chatbox last night: "I feel that I must write and say a big thank you to all those involved in the resurfacing and repair to Coole Lane."

"It's as if a miracle has happened! After almost a year of recording all those pot holes on Coole Lane on the council website it appears that at last the council has acted and finally fixed the poor edges and huge pot holes that peppered the length of Coole Lane."

"The Audlem end has been fully re surfaced from side to side, where as further up the lane towards Nantwich the edges have been fixed. There are even some white lines in the centre. It almost looks like a proper road now! So for once I'm not moaning about those potholes!"
