Concern over free offer

Concern has been expressed to AudlemOnline about cold callers at their front door offering free solar panels for your roof with a free survey and promises of wads of cash – with few details – as a result of the so-called feed-in tariff.

All this may be totally fine and dandy but, beware. The cold callers are saying they have already fitted panels to a large number of homes, including some in Audlem. They were confident enough to even name a local resident who they said had taken up the offer.

One householder was so intrigued he went to check the panels with that named person. On arrival, however, there were no panels to be seen and the named person had never heard of the company involved.

As always, with offers that sound too good to be true, it's worth being very cautious.
