St James's Church is to open it's clock tower to visitors on Saturday to celebrate the centenary of the installation of the clock.

The clock was installed in St James's 100 years ago yesterday (Wednesday June 22) 'To the Glory of God and in commemoration of the Coronation of their Majesties, King George and Queen Mary' for the remarkable sum of £83.

The church tower will be open on Saturday from 2.00pm until 4.00 pm and anyone who wants to see the clock and/or the church bells will be most welcome.

St James's church dates from the late 13th and early 14th centuries with 19th century additions.
