Christmas Is All Around Us!
The talents and enthusiasm of our younger children have thrilled me this week in their super production of The Bossy Christmas Fairy. Their story of the true meaning of Christmas delighted their audiences this week and was filled with lots of delights and reasons to smile.
All of the children shone with their wonderful singing, acting and dancing and I know they have thoroughly entertained each audience they have performed to! Well done to them all! Many thanks to all of the staff and parents involved in this performance.
Unfortunately, one close relative of one of our performers was unable to get to the performances this week, if anyone has video footage they are willing to share with this family so they are able to see how truly wonderful the children were, please can you contact Miss Cooper in the School Office so we can put you in touch with the family? Many thanks.
Our Christmas Fair last Friday was a great success. Thanks must go to our wonderful FASA team who worked tirelessly to make it such a special occasion and to all the families who supported the event. It was a wonderful team effort, which raised a fantastic £1200 for school.
We were delighted Santa could squeeze our school into his hectic schedule again to
attend our Fair. Two visits in one week was a real treat – our children must have been exceptionally well behaved this year!
I believe Mr Warburton helped Santa get to school and ensure he got back to his reindeers and toy preparations so thanks to him as well!
Children from every year group arrived for lunch on Wednesday wearing their party hats and looking like Kings and Queens of Audlem! We had a wonderful Christmas lunch together with Christmas songs and all staff helping out with serving food duties.
I would like to thank all of the kitchen and Mid-Day staff for all of the hard work they put into this event. A special mention must go to Mrs Hayward, our wonderful school cook, who arrived at school at 7.00am to make sure all of the meat was ready for the lunch!
We have counted up the final tallies for our Team Points this term and I am pleased to announce that Alder team have managed to win overall for Autumn Term. They will have their reward on Wednesday afternoon next week. Please look out for a note in school bags if your child is in this team.
It has been a great term at ABC. The pre-school children are doing really well and the after school club children are having great fun at the clubs. ABC are once again working with school to offer a range of after school clubs for children at our school next half term.
Please call Lynsey on 01270 669050 for more information. These clubs will run alongside clubs offered by school (a list of these will be sent out when the children return to school after Christmas).
A new Toddler Dance and Movement session will also begin on Fridays in January as part of ABC's provision – please see the attached flier for more details.
ABC would like to thank you for your support and hope you have a wonderful time over the festive season.
We are looking forward to our Christmas party discos on Wednesday. I would like to remind parents that children should be dropped off and collected via the main entrance at school.
The Key Stage One party will run from 4.30pm – 5.15pm and the Key Stage Two one will be from 5.30pm – 6.30pm. Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Marshall and staff for giving up their time to DJ and organise games and supervision for these parties.
A reminder that our end of term Christmas Service will be held in Church on Tuesday 16th December at 9.30am. Many thanks to the parents and relatives who have already volunteered to walk down to Church with classes. Please let Miss Cooper in the School Office know if you can help with this.
On Christmas Eve, a Crib Service will be held at St. James' Church at 4pm. All families are invited to attend.
We say farewell to Mr Griffiths next week as he leaves to take up his new Deputy Head post in January. I am sure you will join with me in wishing him all the very best in this new role.
Our choir and musicians will be delighting us with a Christmas Showcase of their talents led by Mrs Shackleton, next Thursday at 2pm. Please let the School Office know if you would like to attend.
Following on from an earlier information session for parents, our Partnership have organised another Internet safety workshop for parents to take place in January.
As a cluster we feel it is important, in the increasingly technological world that children are now exposed to, to share and provide access to information that will help parents protect their children online.
This will be my last newsletter before our Christmas break. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of the support you have given to school and myself during this term.
I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year. I look forward to welcoming you back to school on Tuesday 6th January.
R Jewitt
