Audlem residents can now receive important alerts on major incidents from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service direct to their personal computer or phone.

The Cheshire Fire and Rescue Alert system is a completely free two-way messaging system that allows people to receive information about major incidents and news from anywhere in the county.

The new alert system means Audlem residents can now get information sent to them not only by text message but also by email or phone.

You can receive alerts about major incidents and events in any area of Cheshire including Audlem; receive news and information messages from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service; get fire safety news for local businesses; receive alerts for the hard of hearing and information about firefighter recruitment

The alert system is totally free and easy to use. You can register on the Cheshire Fire Service website here by completing an online form.

More than one area of Cheshire can be registered. For example, you may wish to receive information for areas you live and work, or where a relative lives.

The new service is an enhanced version of the SMS Text Messaging Service launched in 2007 which has been a great success with more than 1,400 subscribers.
