This weekend, 25th and 26th June, we at St James the Great are celebrating a number of things which have affected the life of our village for many centuries, most notably the publishing of the King James Bible 400 years ago this year.

Did you know that our first vicar was appointed in 1311?

Do come and join us to celebrate and enjoy:-

  • a walking history of the English bible
  • a video of the making of the KJ Bible
  • Flower arrangements
  • History Society corner
  • A Tour of the Bell Tower
  • Children's activities
  • Display of 14th century village life
  • Refreshments
Open 12.30pm – 16.00pm today Sunday

Church Service today Sunday 26th June

11.00am – BCP Matins, with minstrels
6..30pm – Choral Evensong with Archdeacon, Ven. Ian Bishop
