AudlemOnline has been made aware of a consultation being carried out by NHS South Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) with local patients and public, which started in October and will finish on January 17th.
So there is now only a week to make your views known about proposed service changes.
The proposed changes seek to reduce the amount spent on services with the lowest impact on patient care. This could include cosmetic procedures such as breast reduction or hair removal. The number of fertility treatments (including IVF) available to patients of Cheshire East is also being considered.
The statement on the South Cheshire CCG website says
"We are consulting on a Service Review policy proposal. This is in response to both our difficult financial position and our commitment to commission (buy) a range of procedures and treatments where there is clinical evidence they are effective, beneficial to patients and affordable to our local health economy.
"We have carried out an equality and quality impact assessment on each of the proposed changes (these are available on the CCG website), but before making a decision we want to ensure we have a thorough understanding of the impact that these changes may have on our local population. "
The detailed description of the changes can be found here.
The survey itself can be accessed and completed here.
