Two years ago, on 3rd December 2011, AudlemOnline published the following story by Chris Sheldon:
If anyone can help at all with this query, it would be very much appreciated. One of the names on the Audlem War Memorial is that of Dennis Connor who died during the Second World War.
I am trying to confirm that this man was Trooper Denis Connor (number 7887264) of the Royal Tank Regiment, died in Italy, 9th February, 1945.
Should anyone have any information which can help we will pass it on to Chris Sheldon.
We have recently received this further enquiry from a lady carrying out family research:
"While carrying out some research into my family history, I stumbled upon the above post in the Newsroom on Audlem Online:
"Based on limited information from relatives who have now sadly passed away, I have some reason to believe that Denis Connor was my maternal Grandfather who was killed in action in the Second World War approximately three years after my mother was born.
"I appreciate that the post in the link above is almost two years old and of course am unaware of the reasons behind the author's search; however, if possible, I'd be grateful if you could perhaps pass my email address on to Chris Sheldon so that they may contact me should they wish. I'd be really interested to learn if they'd gathered any further information since posting their query on Audlem Online."
Unfortunately, our email records only go back to January 2012 and we cannot trace Chris Sheldon's. If Chris could contact us gain, we will put you in touch with Denis Connor's granddaughter.
