Britain's biggest butter plant has started production at Market Drayton.
Müller Wiseman's £17 million butter making plant has created 100 new jobs as commercial production started last Saturday .
The plant will use 90,000 tons of cream to create up to 45,000 tons of butter, making it the biggest in the country.
A spokesman for Müller UK said: "Butter imports into the UK were above 100,000 tonnes last year. We can offer butter made in Britain with cream from milk produced by British dairy farms."
There will be a special ceremony to make the formal opening next month.
Müller won planning consent from Shropshire Council in March for the new factory. The company has revamped an old bottling factory to create a two-storey extension and built 14 silos to accommodate the butter making plant.
