Brown bin refunds start to arrive

Success at last!

As revealed exclusively on Audlem Online, residents in the "rural area" of the old Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council who agreed to pay for the collection of garden waste via the brown bin scheme are due a refund for the overpayment of the charge between April and July this year.

I understand that these refunds are now starting to arrive through the post. If you paid the annual charge for a brown bin in August 2008, you should receive a cheque soon from Cheshire East Council for £7.67. The attached slip states "Garden Waste Ref".
