Recently I travelled to Southport with Mike Haines for the annual awards ceremony for
North West in Bloom (NWIB). Audlem is the furthest south of any entries for NWIB and is classed as a large village.
We were presented with a Silver award (see picture), our fourth award in four years, which recognises the work of the Audlem and district community via ADAS. We were judged on three categories:
ADAS has already started the work for Audlem in Bloom 2014 with orders placed with suppliers for spring planting. Also winter planting took place on the 19th October with volunteers, cubs and brownies planting pansies and tulips in tubs, troughs and beds. As 2014 is the 50th anniversary of North West in bloom we are planning to recognise this in the planting scheme for next year.
We are looking for more volunteers to assist with Audlem in Bloom 2014 with ideas such as adopt a tub for watering, essential if we have another summer like this year's.
If you would like to help ADAS with Audlem in Bloom email ADAS on:

or call Bryony Nixon, Chair of ADAS on 811705 or me (Neil Goodyear) on 811283
