The bridleway at Mill Lane will be protected in any plans to develop the site for housing, councillors will be told

Nantwich-based Hockenhull Properties Ltd wants outline planning consent to build up to 36 new homes on open fields off Mill Lane, Audlem.

A Transport Statement by consultants SCP Transport says the house at 22, Heathfield Road will be demolished to create a new road access to the site.

The current junction at Hilary Drive will be rebuilt as a crossroads with road access for vehicles and pavements for pedestrians.

To control traffic speeds on entry to the site they propose replacing the existing speed hump and raising the height of the road junction '

The current bridleway will remain separate from other roads to ensure it stays a route for pedestrians and cyclists only, adds the report.

Consultants say extra traffic from the proposed estate is unlikely to be a problem with an estimated maximum 19 vehicle trips to and from the site at peak hours.

"The traffic impact of the development will be imperceptible and the proposed development will not have a material impact on the operation or safety of the local highway network," says the report.
