There was a break-in last night at the village butchers, Oxtail & Trotter.
Kate Pocock says: "Just a quick note to confirm a break in last night at Oxtail & Trotter. The front door glazing was smashed in at approximately 2am and cash only was taken.
"We are, however, open for business as usual today and we will work around any police statements and work they need to do on site. We thank our customers in advance for their patience and understanding whilst we are getting back to normal."
AudlemOnline has spoken to a witness who heard a noise at 2.15am and shouted at the thieves as they made their escape down into the village centre. The reply was, in what is said to be a Scouse accent: "We'll get you next".
There were two people running away from the scene, a taller one dressed in what seemed to be a hooded tracksuit with a stripe down both the top and bottom, and the other shorter who could possibly be a woman.
If anyone else saw anything suspicious, such as a vehicle at that time of night, please call the police on 101.
