Date: Sunday, 28th June 2026
Location: Audlem & District Bowling Club Green
IMPORTANT WARM WEATHER WARNING: With hot weather forecast for this Sunday, the club strongly advises all players, spectators, and volunteers to dress appropriately for the heat. Please remember to bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and utilise shaded areas around the green throughout the day to stay safe and well-hydrated!
The final countdown is officially on! This Sunday, 28th June, Audlem and District Bowling Club will host its annual Charity Plate Doubles Competition. While this competition is a well-established annual fixture in our village calendar with a different cause chosen each year, this year's event carries a very personal meaning for the club. All proceeds raised this weekend will be donated to AMMF, the charity dedicated to fighting the specific bile duct cancer that sadly took our friend and member, Michael Katterloher.
The generosity and momentum across the club have already been absolutely incredible, and we are gearing up for a fantastic day of bowls, community spirit, and fundraising for this vital cause.
For those competing, please note the strict schedule for Sunday morning:
The main 40-player grid is completely full and locked in, with reserves on standby to step onto the green if needed.
Thanks to the magnificent generosity of our members, our charity pot is already off to a flying start:
We would love for the village to come down, cheer on the bowlers, and help us raise as much as possible for AMMF. There are still plenty of ways to get involved and join the fun on the day:
Whether you are playing, supporting, or just want to enjoy a lovely day out for a wonderful cause, we look forward to seeing a great crowd on the green this Sunday!
P.S. The clubhouse bar will be open throughout the day to keep everyone refreshed!
