Bob Cartwright's Memoirs

Today I was very honoured to be given a book by Helen , his wife , on the life of this giant of a man who I am proud to say was a friend of mine from 2000 to his death 5 years ago. A signed copy and printed by Peter Silvester of the Mill Shop .

Bob was the main force behind the creation of Audlem on Line, one of the best village web sites. -- if not , then the best .

We worked closely together on formulating the Village Plan and in receiving awards aplenty , and as witness the plaques affixed to the wall by the bike shop .

Such a man and many happy memories of New Year's Eve with Bob in fancy dress as a Viking along with his friends and family. In the days when we gloriously greeted the new year in the square with a splendid fireworks display over the square . Happy days now gone as New Year's Eve is no longer like it used to be .

Sad but that is the way of village nowadays .
