It has been over 5 years since Blue Café have performed as a live band, but that is due to change this coming Saturday, 12th February.

Playing live here in Audlem at the 'Acoustic Sessions at the Blue Café' (aka Audlem Scout & Guide Hall) on Cheshire Street, Alg Halliwell & Val Warner of Blue Café headline the evening.

With a new Blue Café line up that features Mike Waldron on Bass, Ian Haughey on guitar and Seve G on percussion, you will be able to hear some new Band numbers alongside some classic Blue Café favourite tracks.

There have been numerous occasions when Alg has been asked about playing live again, a much missed performer by many. Alg and Val both felt inspired to perform following a brief appearance at that other Audlem renowned gig night, the Chillinight.

With the inherent love in Audlem for live music, launching a Blue Café live performance in Audlem, given the support the band has had here over the years, is a perfect return to live performing, and this intimate setting is the perfect stage.

The support for this gig alone has been incredible. Without any promotion, tickets have been snapped up, with literally only a handful of tickets left.

Also appearing on the line up for the evening are local duo, The Folkwits, Dave Nettleton and Kelly Brammer with their 'Nufolk' style. The music they play spans the decades and yet still fits together in their set as though the years had merged into one.

"Kelly's emotive and inspirational vocal talent, is combined with Dave's powerful and gritty acoustic guitar style, producing a unique and impressive performance" said the Audlem Festival Programme in May 2010.

Kicking the evening off are The Spare RIbs. Heidi Peaches Browne from Market Drayton, and Audlem's own Jack Marshall perform their self-penned material in their unique style. These two are certainly making waves here locally as well as on the Manchester music scene.

All three acts will be appearing locally this year, with the Nantwich Jazz & Blues and Audlem Music & Arts Festivals on their calendars.

To grab one of the few remaining tickets, drop in to the Old Priest House Coffee shop, Audlem Dry Cleaners or Hoc's Fat Pigeon – be quick though!
