Berni has her op

This update on Berni's operation has been passed to AudlemOnline by Ralph Warburton of the Audlem Music Festival Team, as received from Colin, her husband, now with Berni in Houston, Texas.

Colin and the family are there in Texas to support Berni during this very tricky time in her life .
All at their own expense as they feel the funds raised should only be used for Berni's treatment.

"We have just returned from the hospital after a gruelling 12 hours, Berni's operation actually took 6 hours – a bit longer than anticipated – but it went as well as it could have gone,

Mr Curly, the surgeon found more cancer than he anticipated but nothing on any major organs so he has been able to remove all traces of visible cancer. The gall bladder has gone , part of the liver and her ovaries have been removed, 2 tumours were taken from her stomach and a few spots removed from her groin area. He said it went as well as it could have done but she may need more than 7 days in hospital to recover from it

Cath and I have just managed to see her for 2 minutes in the recovery room and she is just coming around although very groggy. She will not be moved onto a ward now for several hours so we will return there later on to see if any progress has been made
