Bellyse Monument Under Repair

The Parish Council is pleased to report that, after months and months of planning, organising road closures, and co-ordinating contractors, repair work has begun to the Bellyse Monument in Audlem.

The road closure and diversion was put in place at 9:30 am, and contractors arrived to lift the lighting column and lantern onto the lorry.

Over the coming weeks, the contractors will carefully dismantle and blast clean the column and lantern, carry out any repairs needed, and repaint everything, before restoring the lantern back onto site.

This is a project that the newly formed Parish Council has been keen to complete, due to the historical importance of the monument, and its treasured place in Audlem.
