Details have been revealed of work schedules and potential traffic disruption as work gets under way on a £6.5 revamp of Crewe railway station.

Audlem drivers visiting Crewe should try to avoid the area if at all possible as traffic delays will be inevitable on what is, even at normal times, a heavily congested route.

Work started last week on the demolition of Weston House and this week will see utility works on Weston Road for up to three weeks with road lane restrictions and temporary traffic signals between 9.30am and 3,30pm.

Also expect some night-time working at the B&Q entrance to Weston Road and pedestrian restrictions in the area.

Site works start on Weston Road on September 2nd for up to 6 weeks with lane restrictions on Weston Road and night-time restrictions on Nantwich Road.

Construction work starts on the new railway station entrance in Spring 2014 with the new entrance open to the public in the late Spring.

Cheshire East Council has produced an online Fact Sheet on the project and details of the plans can be viewed online at planning number 11/4346N here
