Both of Audlem's teams were beaten by the weather two weeks ago with both in good positions to go on and win.

1st XI

The 1st XI travelled to Norbury last Saturday and were thwarted by the rain when they were in a strong position to win.

Norbury won the toss and inserted Audlem. Initially this looked to be a good decision as opener Andy Rothwell was caught for 6 with the score on 12. Stuart Stanway joined Chris Shenton, but he too was out cheaply when he was bowled for 9, leaving Audlem at 30 for 2.

When Kemal Toraman joined Shenton the match swung in the visitors' favour as the pair added 85 for the third wicket before Toraman was caught for 41. Shenton followed soon afterwards for a magnificent 76 off 71 balls. When Dave Morris (4) was the third batsman to be caught Audlem were 140 for 5. An unbeaten stand of 47 by Toby Banfield (22 not out) and Qhama Matthews (25 not out) enabled skipper Callum McIlveen to declare the innings on 192 for 5 after 34 overs.

Norbury were reduced to 36 for 1 when the rain came and the match was abandoned.

Audlem gained 11 points and Norbury the minimum 7. As a result, the 1st XI remain in fourth place in Division 2.

2nd XI

The 2nd XI entertained Glazebury at the Gorse Croft but were again defeated by the rain.

Glazebury won the toss and invited Audlem to bat first. After losing a quick wicket skipper Danny Thorburn (49) and Tom Kural (30) piled on the runs to put the home side in a strong position. Knocks by Zar Ahmed (17), Dave Parry (12) and Leo North (10), together with 30 very generous extras allowed Audlem to reach 160.

Glazebury's reply was halted with the score on 34 for 1. Parry was the successful bowler.

Audlem gained 9 points and Glazebury 7. The teams remain in fifth and sixth place respectively.
