During the beautiful English summer we have recently been having, has anyone taken the time to walk from Audlem along the canal to view the island at the new Overwater Marina?

It can only be described as spectacular at present. Janet Maughan of the Overwater Marina tells us it was sown with a British Seed mix of native wild flowers using traditional farming methods back in the Autumn when tractor access was still possible, before the waters of the Shropshire Union were allowed to flood into the marina basin.

At present it is a mass of Ox-Eye daisy, poppies and cornflowers, with some unidentified yellow flowers starting to peep out. The overall impression is stunning and well worth a walk along the towpath to Bridge 80 to admire the view!
