Saturday 12th February meet Audlem Car Park 8 am

This Audlem Rambling Society(ARS) walk is in keeping with this year's AGM theme, looking back at the early days of ARS. The walk is a fairly last minute decision that hasn't been recced and there is no current knowledge as to the condition of the footpaths or whether its dog friendly!!

We do however have a map! And a planned route!! And we know it's a lovely area!

The walk is 15.5km (9.75 miles) with a total Ascent of 423m (1387ft) – a 3-booter. Leaving Audlem car park at 8am

We park in the middle of Church Stretton at Easthope Road car park (SY6 6BQ) next to the Co-oP – there are toilets and there are charges.

Leaving the car park we ascend WNW via Townbrook Valley to join the Jack Mytton Way to the highest point – Pole Bank (516m) – 4.5km.

We then head S along Long Mynd until just before the Gliding Club (7 km) where we head SE down Minton Batch. Lower down we turn NE towards Minton and then into Little Stretton (13km) before heading back to the start.

The walk is mainly on public footpaths, together with some country lanes.

Please do remember that the walk leader has not recced this route, nor walked it for several years, so be prepared for some adjustment to the route if necessary.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
