The Audlem Lass team has forwarded its results to Audlem Online showing what an impact the new boat service has had since starting in service at Easter.

So far, operating on Saturdays and Sundays, plus three Bank Holiday Mondays, the boat has attracted 1,246 passengers on to its 334 trips between the Overwater Marina and Lock 15 at the bottom of the Audlem Lock system.

These trips have raised £1,072.90 in donations and, after allowing £15.97 for petrol and plugs, £1,056.93 has been raised for the lifeboat charity, the RNLI.

The money will go towards a new vessel at New Brighton on the Wirral next to one of Britain's busiest sea lanes.

Audlem Lass will be back in service on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend with, so far, a far more encouraging weather forecast than last weekend's rain and high winds. The service will run from 10.30am until 5.00pm (last trip from Lock 15) each day.
