Audlem Football Club awards night

On Friday night, we held our AGM – the first after our first full season – at the Lord Comberemere. There was a great turnout of players supporting the committee of myself as chair; Geoff Stretch, manager; Ro Wright as secretary; and Dan Morris as coach.

The club has successfully joined the Crewe Regional Sunday Football League in a drive to face more games and stronger opposition. We have increased our insurance cover for the players covering such matters as dental damage and broken bones.

After the formal matters were dealt with, new signing-on forms were delivered for the coming 2013/14 season. We then moved to the presentation of Trophies.

• Players' player of the year is Gaz Jones.
• Manager's Player of the year is James Bebbington.
• Top Scorer is Kev Mort.
• Supporters' player of the year presented by our most dedicated supporter, Julian "Fox" Adair, is James Bebbington.
• Our major Sponsors, Jo & Allan of the Lord Combermere were presented with the Sponsors trophy.

A great evening with very good banter and clean wholesome language was had by all.
