This huge free Festival takes place next month – on the 21/22/23/24th and 25th May.

A massive undertaking. We began planning last September – Planning needed to determine the shape of the whole event – How many artistes would we need to contract to play here – How the mix of music was to be. What art exhibition to create.

Now here at nearly the end of April, I summarise where we are :-

Since mid-January we have been seeking sponsors and supporters in order to raise the very considerable funds to cover all the costs. By the end of March, we hit our target for cash needs, so we then were able to see daylight. We have had such a wonderful response from the village businesses, from others outside Audlem, from Councils.

At the same time, we undertook the booking of 86! (Yes, 86 separate performers.) Solos, duos, groups, bands, choirs – to suit all taste from soul, rock, trad, a Capella, jazz, choral etc, all now contracted to play and all fees agreed.

The 42 page programme. All art work created. All copy and performers biogs done. Now to the printers.

Programme should be with us by the end of this month. Banners all printed. Village signs to go up soon. Stages planned. Marquees ready. Venues all booked. Art work with St James School underway and so much more. We, just a few dedicated men and women of Audlem, hope all will enjoy this Festival. The biggest such FREE event in all of Cheshire.
