From my bed to a very damp cold day. Insisted of huge gathering up of the leaves of summer, now dead and soggy on the lawns, even more have fallen overnight. My bonfire still smoking as they slowly smoulder away. I checked, and a mature Beech or field Maple has about 25,000 leaves to glory us in the summer and then to let fall in autumn . And have quite a few such trees.

I drove out last night , past the village car park as that marvellous team, ASET , presented yet another fine firework display. On to a dinner 🥘 of four, with the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester and his lady. A very interesting evening. Drive home at 2300ish under the light of a super full moon 🌕.

Now. To our game this day. A cup tie in the Cheshire FA Vase Cup. At Sandbach Town facility . Versus Cricketers again. A bit concerned that the overnight rains may have affected the pitch as it does not drain well.

As get into my car , all loaded up, a call from Kev Rogers, to say the game is off. My fears came to pass. Pitch under water again . We now have to play the tie next Sunday . At Sandbach or some other ground.

Hey ho.

Future plans:

Our first home game of the season is on 26th of this month as I have kept off the playing field in the hope it will improve, and it has done... just that .

Who will taste the very best changing rooms and showers in our brand new magnificent Annexe to the Public Hall .

I hope we as a team can do much good justice to what I believe is the best of all the teams we play against . This village can do such fine things as folks here take to heart the desire to be amongst the best .
