This year we return to the traditional date of Whit Monday for the Carnival – May 27th.

It all started in the year 1812, as a celebration of the harvest with much merry making over three days – lots of ale , good hogs eaten and maids chased all over the place by the hoary swain!

Nowadays, it much more sedate but still loads of fun. Lots of stalls, the Big Fun Fair, music and dancers, beat the goalie game, fancy dress and hopefully dressed floats plus – again we hope, the procession through the village – led by this year's Carnival Queen and her attendant princesses – chosen as they are from St James School.

It's all totally free to everybody. If you have a plan for a float, an idea of a happening, or a stall, then please contact us: Gwen Moss on 01270 811467 or myself.
