bowls charity day

Every year the Bowling Club in Audlem runs a Charity Plate Doubles Competition to raise money for a charity. This year the chosen charity is Cancer Research.

A total of 32 bowlers, of mixed abilities, fought it out in fine weather (yes, really) on Sunday and the eventual deserved winners were Maureen Walley and Sue Condrey, beating Barbara Ward and Frank Gillies.

A total of £467 was raised on the day. Through donations and fund raising events during the season, a total of £920 has been raised so far, with the expectation that we will easily break the £1,000 barrier before too long.

Audlem Bowling Club has been very successful in recruiting new members this year, with an additional 17 joining the club, including 9 who have never played Crown Green Bowls before. We now have a total of 88 members – the most for many years.

This is no doubt the result of advertising on Audlem Online.

New members

Even as we draw to the end of our season, we will continue to play bowls on our award winning green throughout the autumn and winter months and will continue to welcome new members.
If anybody wishes to have a go at Crown Green Bowls please contact me on 811852 or at frankandsue72@gmail.com.
