February ARS walkThis month's ARS walk is a circular walk starting at Glyn Ceiriog and is organised by Howard Jones and Chris Roche This is Howard's description of the walk...

The walk scheduled for 13 February is approximately 12 miles in length beginning and ending in Glyn Ceiriog (West of Chirk on the B4500), with some 2500 feet of climbing.

The first stage out of Glyn Ceiriog involves a steep climb of approximately 650 feet in a mile before joining the Ceiriog Way; the route thereafter undulates with some walking along quiet country lanes before a further 550 feet of climbing to the highest point of 1555 feet.

There is then a steep drop down into the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog (roughly half way) and the welcome sight of not one but two pubs (we aim to please).

The afternoon session is relatively easy and runs parallel to the river Ceiriog. The last mile is along a road.

We meet at Audlem car park for an 8.30 am start.
