The next long-ARS walk is scheduled for this Saturday, November 12th.

Meet at 8.00am on Audlem Piublic Car Park.

This walk is rated as a 4-booter, up to 11miles altogether, including ascents of the Roaches (505 metres) and Gun (385 metres).

Tony Crowther's description of the walk -

"It is a circular walk starting in Meerbrook, about 3 miles North of Leek at the head of Tittersworth Reservoir. The route is mainly field and moorland walking with short stretches of 'Lane' at the beginning and end."

"From Roach End we descend via Hazelwood House to Turner's Pool where we ascend slowly to climb up to the trig point on Gun 385 metres. There are panoramic views from here. We then follow an ancient bridlepath to Fould and back to Meerbrook via the lane or footpath."

"This walk is easy to extend or shorten. An extra loop can be added to cover Gradbach Wood and part of the Dove Valley Way OR later on in the walk we may take in a circuit of Tittersworth Reservoir itself."

"When I did the 'recky' a month or so ago, it was bone dry – carpet slipper tracks, but I suspect the puddle at Tittersworth is now half full and there will be plenty of boggy paths, so please be prepared – waterproofs, boots and lunch is a must. A dog friendly walk with a Pub called Lazy Trout at the end for food/drinks. W.C's on Car Park."
